2008 Collings 001
Serial # 14911. With its clean lines and exceptionally perfect build, classic looks and vintage tone, the Collings 001 comes dangerously close to as good as it gets. There's not a detail that was missed in the construction of this guitar, and its mature and deep voice is the proof in the pudding, so to speak. Few modern guitar builders are able to distill the essence of vintage tone as aptly as Bill Collings and Company, and this 001's combination of woody openness, smokey overtones, and a thick, supportive midrange belie the guitar's very young age.
Mahogany and Sitka Spruce 00-size 12 fret body, scalloped bracing with high X placement, ebony pyramid bridge, slotted headstock. 1-13/16" nutwidth, soft V neck carve, 24.9" scale. Ebony headstock overlay, pearl inlay, Waverly tuners, gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
The guitar is in excellent crack-free condition, and has no repairs of any kind. There is one noteworthy scratch on the instrument's top, and a few minor dings on the body. Set-up by us, the instrument plays perfectly everywhere on the neck.
