c.2009 Gallagher Doc Watson Signature Model

Serial # 3609. The Doc Watson model has been in production for some 40 years now, and has become one of the most iconic guitars in bluegrass. The model features a stylized Doc Watson signature at the 12th fret, hefty-feeling neck, and herringbone trim, mahogany back and sides, and scalloped braced Sitka spruce top.

This example is in excellent condition, crack free, and nicely set-up. It's entirely original but for upgraded John Pearse bridge pins.

Figured maple-bound ebony fingerboard with pearl diamond inlays, 25-1/4" scale, and 1-25/32" nut width. The model specifies a 1-3/4" nut width, but this guitar's neck measures a fat 32nd wider; it has a fairly large feel. Action set at 5-7 64ths with Medium strings and a full height saddle.
