2009 McIlroy A20c Custom

Serial # 597. Dermot McIlroy spent a decade building Lowden guitars before opening his own workshop in Northern Ireland in 2000. His instruments are heavily influenced by his years at Lowden and share, to a certain degree, the sonic, esthetic touches that define the guitars of Northern Irish breed.

This A20c Custom features a body built of figured Claro walnut and Italian Fiemme spruce, with pearwood bindings highlighted by maple and rosewood purlfings. Paua, maple and rosewood rosette, ebony fingerboard and pinless bridge, bone nut and saddle. 5-piece mahogany, maple, and walnut neck with ebony overlay and gold tuning mahines. Flush cut-away neck heel, round neck carve, 25.5" scale and 1-3/4" nut. Hand-rubbed satin finished nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

The guitar is in exceptional condition. There are no scratches or finish flaws, and no cracks or repairs of any kind. It has been set-up by us, with D'Addario "True Medium" strings and tuned to DADGAD, as we suspect most would want it.

A very lovely sounding guitar, with excellent sustain, bigness, string balance, and clarity. A wonderful fingerstyle instrument.

With Hiscox liteflite hardshell case
