1999 Ted Thompson TM-1C

Serial # 2199. Ted Thompson is one of Canada's best kept secrets. He's a luthier of amazing skill, and builds exceptionally high-quality flat-tops that are shockingly affordable. The TM-1C is a mahogany and spruce concert-sized flat top with Florentine cutaway.

Perfectly quartersawn South American mahogany back and sides, tightly grained and quartered sitka top, koa rosette and purflings, rosewood bound body. Maple-bound ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge, tusq nut and saddle, Sperzel tuning machines. Perfectly applied, super-thin high-gloss lacquer finish, one-piece mahogany neck, and tapered X bracing. 25.6" scale length, 1-3/4" nut, C shape neck carve.

The guitar is light and very resonant, with open mids, warm bass response and round full-sounding trebles. It can handle a heavy right hand attack, but does offer a lot of tone to a light-handed player.
