1970 Harmony Sovereign

One might think that the most famous songs written by the most influential rock band of all time would have been written on a Les Paul, a Telecaster, or a J-45. Nope. It was a Harmony H1260 Sovereign identical to this one that was Jimmy Page's main song writing instrument, and it's that same guitar you're hearing in the acoustic sections of "Stairway to heaven' recorded in 1971. In fact, much of the first four Zeppelin albums were composed on Page's Harmony.

The guitar is an extra-large dreadnought with a ladder-braced spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a 25” scale. With its oversized body, the Sovereign has a pronounced bass response in addition to the more typical sonic traits of a ladder-braced guitar. It's a surprisingly good sounding machine, and a lot of fun to play.

In near-mint condition, this may be the cleanest Harmony Sovereign you'll ever find; it looks nearly brand new. The neck has been cleanly reset, frets have been dressed, and the saddle has been replaced. It's in perfect working order.

Deep C neck carve, 1-3/4” nut width, rosewood fingerboard, original Waverly 3/strip tuners.
