1974 Martin 00-21

One of Martin's longest-running production models, the 00-21 remained a 12-fretter with a slotted headstock for decades after most models were given 14 fret necks and solid headstocks. In the 1970's, keeping the 00-21 in production was one of the best decisions Martin had made! These guitars are just wonderful instruments.

Featuring a 00-sized 12 fret body of Indian rosewood and Sitka Spruce, the 00-21 has a rich and fairly dark tone, excellent sting-to-string balance, and very supportive mids with good strength. It's a lovely fingerstyle guitar. While not really a 'strummer', the guitar responds well to a controlled flat-pick.

It's in excellent condition and without any repairs or flaws other than a minor pickguard crack. The finish is gorgeous, and there are no modifications to the instrument other than a professionally installed K&K pickup. Set up in-shop, the guitar's action is set at 5-6 64ths and the playability is excellent.

Rounded neck carve with a nut width of 1-7/8', scale of 24.9', and a string spread at the bridge of 2-5/16'.
