1935 Martin 000-18

Serial # 61015. Completely original, and virtually crack-free, this 000-18 is a remarkable guitar in so many ways. Its tone is on par with the best thirties 000's we've offered for sale in the past, with a piano-like resonance and decay, big volume and headroom'a'plenty. Flatpicked notes have a meaty hop, and the guitar offers huge tonal rewards to players with proper attack.

Perfect and invisible neck reset, no internal repairs, issues, or modifications. Perfect bridgeplate and full thickness, original bridge. Original bridge pins and endpin, nut, frets, and tuners. The saddle is likely a replacement, but so nicely made that you'd not be able to tell. Original finish throughout; playwear on the top, minor buckle rash on the back. Two very minor side cracks, bass side near the guitar's waist. The original frets are excessively worn in the first position; but, as the guitar is otherwise original, we've left the frets in place and, instead, offer to refret the guitar at no additional charge to the buyer.

24.9" scale neck with rounded full carve, 1-3/4" nut. Mahogany back and sides, Red spruce top, tortoise-shell celluloid bindings, rosewood fingerboard and bridge.

A beautiful instrument, nicely played in but never poorly handled, with excellent tone and action.
