1973 Martin D-18

Serial # 332889. Here's an unused 38 year old D-18, with no playwear on the frets, fingerboard, or finish. We'd call this one a mint-condition example had we not repaired a pickguard crack and a small back crack (both are near-invisible now). While it was on our repair bench we relocated the original ivory saddle for better intonation -- a common job on mid 1970's Martins -- and set up the guitar. 100% original, super-clean, comfortable flatpicking action, balanced and rich D-18 sound. The saddle is low, though, so don't plan on coaxing a fingerstyle set-up out of this one without neck-setting it first. As it sits, it plays easily and should for a while yet. The action is currently set at 5 to 7 64ths, and there's a hair of adjustment left in the saddle height. Sitka and mahogany, round 70's neck carve with 1-21/32" nut width.
