Martin D-28 Dan Tyminski

Designed by Martin for Alison Kraus and Union Station guitarist Dan Tyminski, this Custom Artist model was built to play, feel, and sound like Dan's own 1946 D-28. It's like nothing else in the Martin lineup, and it's instantly become one of our favorite new Martin models. It's a guitar that the company got completely right ' and it's a tough one to put back in the case.

A Marquis-series level instrument, the D-28 Dan Tyminski features an Adirondack red spruce top with rear-positioned Golden Era scalloped Adirondack bracing, and a fairly chunky well-rounded modified V neck with a 1-11/16' nut-width ' much like what you'd find on a 1946 D-28. The headstock sports a glossy finish, angled-bottom bone nut, Golden Era style logo, Waverly tuning machines with oval buttons, C.F. Martin & Co stamp on the backside, and long volute. Diamond and squares inlaid in the ebony fingerboard, herringbone top trim, zigzag back strip, and beveled-edge tortoise pickguard. The bridge features a drop-in bone saddle, ebony pins, and a pin spacing of 2-1/4'.

A straight-ahead bluegrass guitar with exceptional volume, clarity, and a strong fundamental; power and headroom are the name of this particular game' and what a neck!

Numbered in sequence and individually signed by Dan Tyminski
