2015 Martin D-28 Marquis Sunburst

The now-discontinued Martin D-28 Marquis Sunburst was a store favourite during the length of its production. With its red spruce top and forward positioned scalloped bracing, pre-war neck carve and bridge pin spacing, and attractive vintage appointments, the D-28 Marquis offered players huge value in a high-end Martin rosewood Dreadnought.

This example is in near-perfect condition and shows almost no playwear. The finish and frets are nearly factory fresh, and the setup was just done by Folkway's repairshop.

Gorgeous dark sunburst top finish over a particularly fine red spruce top, quartered Indian rosewood back and sides, ivoroid bindings and beveled tortoise celluloid pick guard. Bone nut and through-cut saddle, bone bridge pins; ebony 1930's style bridge, vintage-style open-geared tuning machines, old-style headstock logo, and 1930's headstock shape and volute.

1-3/4” nut width, modified V neck carve, 2-5/16” string spread at the bridge. Set up with Medium gauge strings and low/medium action.

With original hardshell case.
