2015 Martin Custom Shop OM Rosewood
A glorious and tasteful Custom Shop build from 2015, this OM features a red spruce top with Golden Era style bracing, vintage Style 28 appointments and a vertical CF Martin headstock logo in mother of pearl. It's a beautifully made guitar, and a great sounding rosewood OM that's right at home when flatpicked or played with a heavier attack.
Ivoroid bindings, herringbone top purfling, zigzag backstrip, small bevelled-edge tortoise pickguard and a 30's style belly bridge with drop-in bone saddle. Modified oval neck carve with Performing Artist taper, 1-3/4” width at the nut, and 2-3/16” string spread at the saddle. Gloss lacquer finish with just the slightest aging toner added to the top's finish. Satin neck finish, open-geared vintage style tuners, and short pattern diamonds and squares pearl inlays in the fingerboard. The rosette is made of celluloid and wood rings, which is a nice 30's touch, and the back is purfled with matching wooden inlays.
A beautifully appointed guitar that's just a little touch fancier than an OM-28 and sonically along the lines of an OM-28 Marquis. In near-new condition and set-up here at Folkway with medium fingerstyle/flatpick action and light strings.
