1987 Martin D-28

Serial 473920. Not far off its 30th birthday, this '87 D-28 has had some time to develop and open up. It has aged well and shows little wear to its finish, is crack-free, and completely unrepaired. 100% original and unmodified but for an added strap button.

Straight-braced Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, Martin-branded Schaller tuners. Self-adhesive pickguard, adjustable truss rod (that switch happened in '85).

Set-up in our shop, the guitar's action measures 5-7 64ths at the 12th fret. Full height bridge with low saddle. The guitar plays well and easily, but the first few frets show some string grooves which do affect note clarity under the E and B strings.

With hardshell case
