c.2006 Collings MF

Serial # 771. The simply appointed Collings MF offers up the same quality construction and tone as the company's highly priced instruments, but does so in a more cost-effective way, thanks to the simplified trimmings and satin finish. The instrument is meticulously carved and flawlessly assembled; and quite frankly, one of the best sounding F models we've played in a long while.

Quarter sawn Red spruce top, figured maple back, sides, and neck; ebony bridge and radiussed fingerboard. Bone nut, upgraded Ivoroid binding and matching tuner buttons, Collings one-piece tailpiece; sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer satin finish.

The instrument is in close to new condition and shows no finish wear and pretty much no fret wear. The back of the neck has shined up a bit from playing, but that's about all that suggests the instrument isn't factory new. Set up is perfect, and the MF plays easily in all positions. Lots of volume, woody and rich, with expressive basses and round, punchy trebles. Very comfortable neck carve, 1-1/8" at the nut.

With original hardshell case.
