2005 Gibson Wayne Benson F5

Serial # 50412020, #33 of 50. Joining forces with Bluegrass mandolin superstar Wayne Benson in 2003, Gibson created a limited run of 50 instruments to bear his signature. The F5 was designed in conjunction with Benson, and features a combination of design features specific to his tastes.

Sitka spruce top, flamed maple back, fully bound body, fingerboard, and headstock, gold hardware, pearl tuner buttons, Fern headstock inlay, flat dot-less fingerboard with 1-1/16" nut, a smaller than standard bound pickguard, and satin lacquer finish styled after that of an early 20's Gibson F4. Wayne's signature is inlayed in pearl on the otherwise plain fingerboard, and hand-engraved on the tailpiece cover. The instrument features a Master Model label and is signed and dated by Danny Roberts, April 12th 2005.

The mandolin is in exceptional condition and very well set-up. Its tone is clear and woody, with a well developed chop and subtle but present overtones.
