2012 Collings MTO Gloss Blacktop
This gently used Collings black-top MTO mandolin has been lovingly cared for and carefully played for the last 5 years. It's in excellent condition and shows only light fretwear. No repairs, cracks or damage, and the set-up was just done here at Folkway.
Gorgeous deeply figured maple back, sides and neck with sunburst finish; gloss black top finish, ivoroid-bound top and soundhole. Ebony bridge and fingerboard, bone nut, and nickel vintage-style tuners with black buttons. 1-3/16” width at the nut, 13-7/8” scale length, compound radius fingerboard.
Beautifully opened-up round-hole tone, with warmer, darker, and rounder sound than an F-hole model. Oval hole Collings mandolins are excellent solo instruments thanks to the richness of tone that they offer.
