1973 Gibson Hummingbird

Serial # 000139. A wine-red early 1970's Gibson Hummingbird in particularly fine condition. No cracks, 100% original, very little wear to the finish or frets, and no repairs of any kind.

Square-shoulder Dreadnought body, Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, 3-piece maple neck, Hummingbird pickguard, Grover rotomatic tuners with tulip buttons, rosewood fingerboard with pearl inlays, rosewood bridge, double-X bracing. The original plywood bridgeplate's pin holes are worn typically of those from this era of Gibson's production. A second ball-end on the strings is an easy way to work with it, as there really is no structural concern posed.

Round neck, 1-11/16" nutwidth, 25.4" scale. Action set at 5 to 7 64ths, but with no further room to be lowered without shaving the bridge or resetting the neck. It plays very easily with its current action.
