1967 Gibson J-50

Serial # 100480. With its quintessential mid 1960's Gibson J-45/J-50 tone, looks, and feel this crack and repair-free '67 J-50 is a winner in its category. These adjustable bridge '64-'67 J-50s have a wonderfully thumpy, dark, and woody voice that is often the perfect thing for backing up a vocalist. This J-50 isn't a Bluegrass flatpicker or a lead guitar, but it's really exceptional for chording, and would make a particularly good recording companion.

A completely original guitar without any changes or repairs, this J-50 has survived the years amazingly well, given the amount of playwear on its neck and top. No cracks, no loose braces, original finish throughout, original nut, tuners, frets, and pins. It has had a K+K pickup installed, and sounds lovely plugged in as well.

Original frets were dressed a couple of years back and still play fine, and the guitar has just been set-up in our shop. Excellent neck angle and action. The neck feels fast and has a compact carve, with a nut width of 1-9/16". Scale is 24-3/4".

Original finish shows good wear on the back of the neck, and top's finish is worn through around the soundhole and by the pickguard. The balance of the guitar's finish shows many dings, dents and scratches, but is without any major single worn area.

With period non-original hardshell case
