1963 Gibson J-45

An unbelievably fine and totally original vintage Gibson J-45 from early 1963 that features a full-size neck a gorgeous cherry sunburst finish, and a near-mint original hardshell case.

We haven't seen as clean a post-war J-45 in years. With almost no playwear, a great neck angle, not a single loose brace or changed part, this one will be hard to beat we're guessing. The guitar has two minor flaws – a small unrepaired pickguard-margin crack, and a small finish touch-up at the top's lower treble bout. No other cracks, repairs, or any kind of damage. The tuners and buttons are original, the nut has never been off the neck, frets are original and full height, bridge and pins are original, thin celluloid pickguard isn't pulling, and the top isn't warping. The guitar's finish is just stunning and nearly new looking. It looks incredibly good for its 54 years.

The neck has Gibson's early 1960's carve, with a nut of 1-11/16” and a low profile. 24.75” scale length, adjustable bolt-on bridge, action of 5-6 64ths with ample adjustment rood on the saddle and a straight neck.

Classic warm, thumpy and slightly compressed adjustable-saddle early 1960's tone with excellent playability and killer looks. This one is a winner.

With original Gibson Hardshell case in matching condition
