2008 Collings SoCo Deluxe

Serial # 8051. The SoCo Deluxe is Collings' most premium version of the popular SoCo series. With its solid carved top and back, ivoroid bindings, pickup rings, and control knobs, lush gloss lacquer finish and sunburst finish, and high-end hardware, the SoCo Deluxe is nothing short of spectacular.

A 15" wide single-cut semi-hollow electric, the SoCo is built with a carved figured maple top and carved mahogany back. The maple center-block and long neck tenon are set into the body for better tone transfer than a traditional semi-hollow, while the ergonomically carved neck heel allows more comfortable access the higher frets.

Dual Lollar low-wind Imperial Humbuckers, 1950's style wiring with CTS Pots, Xicon caps, and Switchcraft toggle. Nickel Tone-Pros AVR-II bridge and locking tailpiece, Gotoh tuning machines and bone nut.

Bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl double-parallelogram inlays, 24-7/8" scale, and 1-11/16" nut. The mahogany neck is carved into a medium-fat round C shape, with rolled-over edges and a 12" radius that make for a heavenly hand-feel.

The guitar is exquisite in every detail, and in perfect condition. Frets show close to no wear, and the set-up is phenomenal. A versatile guitar, many Jazz players chose this model for its warmth and feel, but roll the tone up a bit and it is an excellent blues and rock machine.

With original Ameritage hardshell case.
