2003 Fender Custom Shop 1959 Esquire

A lightweight and quite believably-aged Fender Custom Shop 1959 Esquire, with some seriously good looks and an amazing neck feel. See-through white/blond lacquer finish over ash, one-piece maple neck with aged and worn lacquer, built with a top-loader bridge and no string-thru holes. The body is factory routed for a neck pickup, so it's an easy one to make into a tele as well. Relic work is light to moderate, and isn't at all overdone. The fingerboard wear looks great, the neck barrel feels fast and smooth, and the assortment of dings and worn spots on the body suggests good-old honest playwear. It's really well done.

Set-up in our shop, excellent playability, light fretwear. Original factory Esquire tone circuit wiring, staggered pole tele bridge pickup. Ashtray bridge cover included. 7.25 lbs light.

With original hardshell case and COA
