1981 Fender The Strat

Serial # E027379. Fender's The Strat was introduced in 1980 in response to player requests for more sustain, more power, and more sonic options in a Stratocaster. The Strat features a total of 9 pickup combinations thanks to the two-position switch that's disguised as the middle tone control. And to be honest, the guitar really does offer some excellent options in tone.

The Strat also features a heavier brass tremolo assembly, a hotter bridge pickup, and color-matched headstock. This one is Candy Apple Red with a maple neck, and the body is ash.

Bought from the original owner, the guitar is 100% original, unmodified, and beautifully set-up. Frets show minor playwear, and there is a patch of belt wear on the back. The finish is otherwise quite excellent.

In the quest for sustain, many of the guitars built in the 1970's and early 1980's were pretty heavy by today's standards, and this one is not an exception. It weighs in at 10 lbs.

With original case, trem arm, strap, and factory documentation.
