1965 Fender Stratocaster

Neck dated April 1964, pots coded 65. With its perfectly worn-in original sunburst finish, played-smooth neck, and devastatingly good sounding pickups, this '65 Stratocaster has got all of your senses perfectly covered. It's a well played guitar, and with good reason.

Original finish throughout, unmodified body and neck, original pickguard, control knobs, jack cup, tuning machines. Original grey-bottom pickups (dated 4-2-65), original pots, original switch has been replaced, but accompanies the guitar. A mini-switch was wired in years ago, but has since been disconnected. A few re-solders visible. We suspect that the back-plate is an old replacement, and the strap-buttons have been replaced with Strap Locks. The guitar was refretted a few years ago by Folkway's Mark Stutman, and the fingerboard radiussed to 9.5" at the owner's request. A new aged bone nut was made and installed at that time. The frets show almost no wear, and the guitar's action, set-up, and playability are perfect. Pickups read 5.8 / 6.0 / 6.2 (N/M/B), and the guitar weighs in a 7.5 Lbs.

An exceptional playing and looking pre-CBS Fender Stratocaster.

With 1970's Fender Hardshell case.
