1960 Fender Duo-Sonic

Introduced in 1956, the Duo-Sonic was a student-priced and student-sized Fender with a short 22.5” scale and two single-coil pickups and Desert Sand lacquer. This example dates a few years into production and features a slab rosewood fingerboard and single-ply white pickguard – features typical of 1959-1964 production. The guitar is completely original and untouched. It's missing its bridge cover, but is otherwise 100% including its original hardshell case.

Pickups sound great, electronics work perfectly, and the set-up was just completed here at Folkway. There is fretwear in the first position, but not much in the way of wear to the finish. The guitar presents really nicely.

These are fun guitars to play; their small size and small neck make for easy playing and there's plenty of added warmth thanks to the short 22.5” scale.
