1958 Gretsch 6124 Anniversary

With its trestle bracing and original PAF Filter'Tron, this refinished Gretsch Anniversary model offers some seriously good vintage tone at a big discount. Trestle bracing was used in certain Gretsch hollowbodies in the late 1950s and very early 1960s. Designed at the request of Chet Atkins for his 6120, the trestle bracing added a whole lot of stiffness to the archtop guitar's body, increased the coupling of the top and back, and added some mass – all of which helped to achieve the goal of reducing feedback and upping sustain. And that PAF Filter'Tron should speak for itself!

The guitar is in good shape but has been refinished and has had various parts replaced. The tuners, pickguard, bridge, and control knob are non original. Neck angle and set-up are good, frets are also in good condition. The guitar plays well and sounds exceptional. It's a perfect choice for someone who wants some of that early PAF Filter'Tron tone for less than a modern Gretsch will run them.
