Collings DS2H

Imagine the loudest rosewood dreadnought, and then add more volume, better string to string balance, more complex overtones, quicker response, and more bounce to the feel. Now you have an idea of what Collings' DS2H 12 fret dreadnought is all about.

With the added body size and air volume of the 12 fret shape, a bridge positioning closer to the middle of the top's resonating area, and the increased string angle over the nut thanks to the slotted headstock, this guitar is a whole lot more wound-up than a 14 fret version. You'll have to give up two frets of access to get the kind of tone this guitar offers, but we believe that it's a very fair trade!

Sitka spruce top with pre-war scalloped bracing and wide X; Indian rosewood back and sides, ivoroid bindings, herringbone purlflings, zigzag back strip, tortoise celluloid pickguard, ebony fingerboard, bridge, and headstock overlay, pearl logo and slotted diamonds, bone nut and saddle, Waverly tuning machines, high gloss lacquer finish.

Standard neck carve, soft V in profile, joining the body at the 12th fret. 1-13/16" nut width, 2-3/8" string spread at the bridge, 25.5" scale length. Serial number 22919.

With deluxe hardshell case
