The go-to guitar for so many mahogany Dreadnought players, the Collings D-1 has a proven track record amongst flatpickers the world over. The guitar features a scalloped braced sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, tortoise-celluloid bindings and beveled-edge pickguard, and gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
This model was built for Folkway with a gorgeous deep cherry sunburst finish and a 1-23/32" wide nut. We've noticed that most players love the feel of this in-between size, and have been ordering most of our Collings instruments in with it of late. The guitar is otherwise factory standard, and beautiful in every way.
