2011 Collings Custom CJ Mahogany

Serial # 19608. A fantastically beautiful guitar, this Collings Jumbo exemplifies why Collings guitars are far and wide considered to be the finest acoustics available. There's not an element of this guitar that's not been massaged into perfection - from the fine ivoroid and tortoiseshell headstock binding to the perfectly fit bridge pins. Be it its neck shape, its sunburst finish, or its meticulously carved braces and construction, the people at Collings guitars worked their magic in this guitar's building.

Mahogany back and sides and Sitka spruce top, round full-carved mahogany neck with tortoise and ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge with pearl-dot ebony pins and bone compensated saddle; bone nut and Waverly tuning machines. Custom features include the guitar's glorious vintage sunburst top finish and Adirondack Red spruce braces (top and back).

A powerful guitar with a forceful midrange and dry fundamental presence, this CJ is an excellent flatpicker or fiddle-back-up guitar. Playability is excellent, and the guitar plays very smoothly. The neck carve is pretty much dreamy for round-neck lovers - it disappears into your hand like the most comfortable late 1940's Gibson necks do. 25.5" scale, 1-11/16" nut.

The guitar is in mint condition. Close inspections will show the faintest pick scratches on the pickguard, and the very beginnings of fretwear in the first position.
