2017 Collings CW Mh A

The Collings Winfield is widely considered to be among the finest production flatpicking dreadnoughts money can buy. Named after the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield Kansas, home of the most renowned flatpicking championship in the guitar world, the Collings Winfield is designed to offer flatpickers a guitar with huge headroom and robust tone.

Combining a stiff red spruce soundboard, pre-war positioned and carved bracing, and an enlarged soundhole, the guitar has forward tone and excellent mid-range presence. The large soundhole and Dalmatian pickguard is styled after Clarence White's / Tony Rice's '35 D-28, and scale of 25.5”. The strings spread to 2-1/4” at the bridge, and the through-cut bone saddle is a glued-in for even better tone.

Mahogany back and sides, tortoise-celluloid binding with fine wooden purflings, and two-ring rosette. Dotless ebony fingerboard with endgrain ivoiroid purfling and ebony bindings, bone nut and saddle, and Waverly tuning machines. The guitar is built without rosewood.

The guitar is in brand-new condition and perfectly set-up. No fretwear or finish wear of any kind.

With original hardshell case
