2015 Collings CL
Colling's CL is an evolutionary step beyond its inspiration, Gibson's Les Paul. Collings puts all its effort into making a LP styled guitar something more, using their finest and lightest mahogany and their most acoustically lively figured Eastern maple for the body, and then spends huge amounts of time massaging the details in its construction. The neck features a carefully hand-fit mortise and tenon joint and extra-comfortable take on the cutaway shape and heel, and the guitar's lacquer finish is incredibly thin and hard. Lollar Imperial Humbuckers with mismatched coils finish the guitar with the full bodied and complex tone of the best PAFs. We can go on and on.
This example is in immaculate condition and appears to be unused. Its set-up is Collings factory perfect, too. Finished in a cherry sunburst that accentuates the maple's flame, this is one great looking guitar. Neck feel is heavenly, and the guitar is a comfortable weight and well balanced. Amazing PAF tone with all kinds of character and overtones, touch-sensitivity and sustain. C-shaped neck carve with 1-11/16” nut and 24.75” scale.
