2008 Collings City Limits Deluxe
Serial # CL7255. A positively gorgeous solidbody, the CL features a highly figured maple top, one-piece Honduran mahogany body with belly contour, hand-set mortise and tenon neck joint, and a stunning tobacco sunburst finish. Built with a contoured neck heel, grained ivoroid binding along the top, fingerboard, and headstock, and matching ivoroid details, the guitar is pure Collings. It's all about the details.
With it's C-shaped neck, 24-7/8" scale, and top-notch fretwork, the guitar is joy to play -- Collings electrics are famous for their playability and comfort. The neck carve is heavenly as well; with a vintage-feel, but not a huge '59 profile as you'd find on many similarly inspired guitars.
Lollar Imperial humbuckers, Tone Pros bridge and tailpiece, Ivoroid UFO knobs, standard 3-way wiring. Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot markers, Sperzel tuners with ivoroid markers, and bone nut.
The guitar is in exceptional condition. There is no playwear anywhere, and it could be called 'showroom new' if it weren't a used instrument! Setup at Folkway, it's without flaw of any kind. The plastic protector film is still on the back's cover plates!
