1980 Ramirez Estudio

Label dated 1980. The Ramirez Family have been making fine classical and flamenco instruments in Madrid for over 130 years. From the concert hall to the recording studio, their guitars have been played by some of the most renowned musicians of the modern era ranging from Andrs Segovia to George Harrison.

This one-owner Estudio was bought new in Madrid and comes with all the original purchase documents to prove it! Total sell price in 1980: 32,250 pesetas (about US $500 in today's money). The Estudio was the student model of the day but this particular guitar has a richness and complexity of tone that would rival most-any early 1980's Model 1A. It is a resonant and loud guitar, with strength and fullness at every position, up to the last fret. In near mint condition, the guitar appears to have never been played and must look about the same as it did the day it left the factory some 33 years ago.

Solid Indian rosewood back and sides, cedar top, Spanish cedar neck with ebony reinforcement and fingerboard, mosaic rosette, gold-plated tuning machines, 53mm bone nut and 655mm scale. Action set at 2.6mm (treble) to 4mm (bass).

With original hard shell case.
