1926 Vegaphone Professional Tenor
Serial # 67528. Vegaphone banjos were produced by the Boston-based banjo manufacturer from about 1922. Similar in construction to the popular Tu-Ba-Phone, but more elegantly appointed, the Vegaphone combines the best in tone and looks.
The instrument is in very fine condition and is well set up. Excellent neck angle, frets, and action. Thick, loud and assertively voiced.
19 fret maple neck, ivoroid binding, ebony fingerboard, 1-5/32" bone nut, 23 1/8" scale, tortoise bound pie section resonator, 28 brackets and individual flanges, bent Vega armrest, Tu-Ba-Phone tone ring, 1/2" thick rim, newer Grover bridge, newer five star planetary tuners, 10-15/16" Renaissance head and Vegaphone Professional engraved tailpiece.
