1974 OME Juggernaut
Serial # 677. OME's top-end bluegrass banjo back in the mid 1970's, the Juggernaut featured maple neck and resonator, silverspun tone ring, two-piece flange and hooks-and-shoes fasteners. A fairly ornate instrument, the bound ebony headplate and fingerboard are inlaid with intricate abalone pearl, and ivoroid is used for the resonator binding as well. Double-ring resonator back, gloss lacquer finish.
The instrument is in beautiful condition save for a tiny and nicely repaired headstock crack, and has been thoroughly set-up in our shop. The tuners are modern replacements, and the originals are in the case pocket.
A warmer sounding instrument than most, OME bluegrass banjos are lovely and musical, and often find favor with bluegrass, and newgrass inspired instrumentalists.
With original hardshell case
