c.1926 Vega Vegaphone Professional

A particularly fine example of the Tubaphone plectrum Professional model, with a perfect neck angle, excellent neck and frets, and wonderful tone. It’s really nice to find one of these banjos in this kind of condition, and with playability that’s on par with an instrument 90 years younger! It’s a completely original instrument but for a replaced Weatherking head.

10-7/8” rim with Tubaphone tone ring, 28 brackets, shoes, and flange pieces; Grover Presto engraved Vega tailpiece, original armrest. Original Grover tuners, nut, frets and finish. Original Vega double-bound pie-plate resonator, and original finish throughout.Two-piece mahogany neck with intricately carved heel, pearl headstock flourish, and pearl dot position markers. Ivoroid-bound ebony fretboard, 27” scale, and 1-3/16” nut width.

With original Vega double-pocket Plectrum/5 string case and original Vega-stamped bracket wrench.
