2002 Bourgeois LC4 Limited Edition Archtop

#12 of 12 made, Serial # 2365. Built in very limited numbers, Archtops built by Dana Bourgeois are uncommonly rare things. A gorgeously made instrument, this guitar features highly figured maple back and sides, spruce top, and ebony fittings. The sunburst is deep and rich, highlighting the beauty of the tonewoods beautifully. Hand made bound ebony pickguard and tailpiece, ebony bridge and fingerboard, simple white/black purflings, and tortoise-celluloid bindings.

17" cut-away body with 3" sides, X braced top, figured maple neck, gold Schaller tuning machines. 1-23/32 nut width, C-carved neck, 25.5" scale.

The limited run of 12 LC4 archtops were the predecessors to Bourgeois' model A-350 Archtops. A total of 33 A-350's were built, including these first 12 LC4-labeled guitars. They are as rare as they are beautiful.

Set-up with Thomastic Jazz Flatwound 12's the guitar has a mellow and warm voice that's fabulous for comping and smooth playing. With round-wound phosphor bronze strings the dynamics are expanded and the instrument's more aggressive side shows itself. Single note runs are lively and full, balance is excellent, and the mid-range is warm.

With original hardshell case.
