1941 Epiphone Zenith
Serial # 16525. It's hard to find fault with this Epiphone Zenith -- it's in remarkable condition, it's really good looking, and it plays well.
The Zenith was one of Epiphone's less expensive instruments at the time, simply appointed and finished, but nonetheless was a well built guitar with fine tone. 16" single-bound archtop body with solid spruce top and solid walnut back and sides. Mahogany neck with rosewood center-strip, rosewood fingerboard, round carve, 1-5-8" nut width, and full 25.4" scale. Grover tuning machines, pearl 'Stick Pin' headstock inlay and logo, rosewood adjustable bridge, chromed tailpiece, unbound firestripe pickguard. The heel cap is a replacement, but the guitar is otherwise 100% stock. The original tailpiece has a crack part-way through the crease of its hanger. Its still functional, so we've left it installed on the guitar.
The Zenith is well set-up, with freshly dressed frets that play nicely. It's a very fine sounding affordable vintage archtop, that's fun to play.
With original hardshell case
