1939 Oahu Amp & Steel Set

With matching serial numbers (both stamped 430), we know that this pair has likely spent all of the last 73 years at cable-length distance from one another. The amplifier's output transformer is dated November 14th 1939. A gorgeous Steel and Amp set in near perfect original condition. The amplifier is 100% original and in perfect working order, as is the steel -- with the exception of its replacement Stewart-MacDonald tuning machines.

The steel has a bound 3-piece mahogany body, aluminum bridge, mahogany palm rest with matching sunburst finish, original single-coil pickup (might have been the one that Leo Fender copied -- it looks like a fender single coil but 50% bigger and a little more rustic), volume and tone controls with AM radio frequency control plates, and a tone selector switch mounted on the back side. Electronics are 100% original, unmodified, and in excellent working order.

The amp features an 8" Jensen speaker, 4 tubes, two inputs, and a volume control. It sounds great with this steel, or with your favorite guitar or harmonica thanks to about 5 watts of power, and a thick overdrive with the volume turned up. Everything works perfectly.

Both the amp and the steel have their original cases, as well.

Offered as a pair, we won't be separating the two.
