Santa Cruz D/PWR Lefty
The D/PW is a solid wood dreadnought-sized guitar designed to be able to provide the sophisticated tone and playability SCGC has become famous for at a price far below anything available from SCGC for many years. This guitar incorporates all of Santa Cruz's extensive experience in making acoustic guitars, and puts it to work in an elegant but simpler format. This amazing instrument will appeal to those who want the tone and quality of a Santa Cruz guitar, but don't want to break the bank on one. The PW refers to pre-war or advanced X bracing. This style bracing gives the guitar an incredible presence and bass response yet retains a good balance with strong midrange and bright powerful treble response. The advanced X bracing also makes the guitar very responsive for fingerstyle playing as well as powerful rhythm bass lines.
Sitka Spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony board and bridge, one-piece mahogany neck, bone nut and saddle, 25.4" scale, 1-11/16" nut, modified V vintage profile neck carve; open-geared SCGC tuners with ebony buttons, gloss Nitrocellulose lacquer finish, deluxe hard case.

Santa Cruz H-13
Although designed with a 1930's Nick Lucas Model in mind, these guitars are not meant for tiptoeing, tulip season or not! The body depth ranges from 3 7/8" to 5", incredibly deep for a smaller guitar, producing extra volume and bass support to bolster its rich tone. Its comfortable size and complex tonal characteristics will make it especially appealing to traditional players, soloists, and recording artists who demand maximum warmth and tonal versatility.
Features of the handcrafted H-13 include a specially hand-tuned bracing system beneath its top-grade Sitka spruce top, a slotted headstock for classic style and enhanced string angle and sustain, and an ebony 1" x 6" pyramid rectangular bridge. The sides and back are select mahogany, and the mahogany neck features an ebony fingerboard with a total of 19 frets. An ebony headstock overlay and ebony bridge with pyramid-style detailing add to the classic appearance. The instrument is finished off with vintage-inspired purflings, and a gorgeous sunburst finish. We have found this to be a great feeling and entrancingly deep sounding guitar. The 13th-fret body joint has always seemed a nice compromise to me, allowing the luthier to create that distinctive twelve fret sound, while giving reasonable access to the second octave. With the huge rebirth of popularity that 12-fret guitars have enjoyed lately, This model is creating a big stir.

Santa Cruz Tony Rice LEFTY
The Tony Rice model continues to be one of the most popular instruments in our Santa Cruz lineup, and you'll know why with your first strum. It's designed to have exceptional balance across the strings, and it does so not by compromising its basses, but by adding fullness and power in its upper register. We're not sure how they do it, but every Tony Rice model we've encountered achieves its design goal and sounds incredible as a result. Indian rosewood back and sides, Sitka spruce top, ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard with 25.4" scale length and 1-11/16" nut. Herringbone top trim, ivoroid bindings and mitered purflings. 4.25" soundhole diameter helps push out the mids and trebles. Like every Santa Cruz Guitar Company instrument, the TR model is entirely hand built and features a traditional dove-tailed neck joint, high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, and an individually voiced scallop-braced top.

Santa Cruz Mahogany DH
A custom-ordered DH model with Mahogany back and sides! The Herringbone Dreadnaughts built by the Santa Cruz Guitar Company are among the finest Bluegrass instruments available; but not everyone wants one in Rosewood. Santa Cruz OM/PW
The OM Pre-War Model is designed with many of the features in bracing and tone that the emerging singer-songwriter, the working musician, or a serious amateur will find desirable at a price before unheard of in guitars of this caliber.
The advanced X braces, which is the bracing pattern "Pre-War" refers to, is a good tonal option for those using the guitar for smaller accompaniment or rhythm. This style bracing gives the smaller bodied OM an incredible presence and bass response, yet retains a good balance with strong midrange and bright powerful response.

Santa Cruz 000-R
With its 12 fret neck, long scale, 000 body dimensions, and 1-3/4" nut width the 000 model is designed to appeal to the fingerstyle guitarist seeking a vintage-inspired guitar with modern playability. The rosewood 000 is similar in tone to the company's popular OM model, but has a more pronounced bass register, and a little more overall warmth thanks to the 12 frets-to-the-body neck. It is a very well proportioned instrument, both esthetically and in tone, and offers a lot back to the player. Simply perfect rosewood back and sides matched to a perfectly quarter-sawn Sitka top. Herringbone purflings; ivoroid bindings to the body, fingerboard, and headstock; ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, and slotted headstock. Hand-rubbed lacquer finish and tortoise-shell celluloid pickguard. The 000 Rosewood is continually a shop favorite.

Santa Cruz Tony Rice
Tony Rice is the master of contemporary bluegrass guitar. He has enhanced
his traditional background with influences ranging from Clarence White to
John Coltrane, thereby creating a style that demands more from a guitar than
a typical vintage dreadnought can offer. Tony's legendary 1930s D-28,
previously owned by Clarence White, served as the model for an instrument
design that combines the bass presence of the old D-28 with more substantial
midrange and treble response, which is necessary for Tony's modern lead
work. The sophisticated tone in the higher ranges of this guitar will
inspire flatpickers to explore new territory.
The Tony Rice Model is the result of two decade collaboration with Tony
Rice, and is the epitome of a contemporary bluegrass guitar.
Fine Indian Rosewood back and sides, Sitka Spruce top, Ivoroid bound body
and ebony fingerboard, ebony bridge and headstock overlay. Single-piece
mahogany neck with a vintage soft V profile, style 28 headstock volute, and
1-11/16" nut. Herringbone purflings, zig-zag back strip. Scalloped bracing
and enlarged soundhole (4-1/4"). Bone nut and compensated saddle, ebony
bridge pins, hand beveled tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, open geared
vintage style nickel plated tuners, hand rubbed high-gloss nitrocellulose
lacquer finish, and SCGC pearl logo inlaid at the 12th fret. One of our
favorite guitars.

Santa Cruz H Rosewood Lefty
Here's a guitar that will make you want to sit back and slowly pluck away at your favorite traditional waltz. It's one that will mesmerize you with its complexity and openness, power and subtlety. It is the consummate audiophile guitar; akin to a ten-thousand dollar turntable or tube hi-fi power amplifier. Yes, I like it a lot. It is a custom-ordered left handed H model (not the H-13, but the standard H), with 14 fret neck, dreadnaught body depth (4-1/2" at the tail tapering to 3-3/4" at the neck), and vintage styling. Sitka spruce top dressed up with herringbone purfling, a 30's sunburst and rectangular ebony bridge. Rosewood back and sides, ivoroid binding, ebony fingerboard and headstock overlay; open-geared vintage-style tuners. Bone nut and compensated saddle; 25.4" scale and vintage-D profile neck with 1-11/16" nut-width. The H model gets its fat vintage tone partly from the hybrid scalloped / tapered bracing employed on its top - the tone-bars are scalloped and the X braces are tapered - and it really works. Its voice is already startlingly mature, and it is a brand new instrument. A particularly fine instrument

Santa Cruz DA-1
The Santa Cruz Guitar Company's new flagship dreadnaught, the DA-1, features
an abalone-pearl bordered top and soundhole rosette, Master-grade Sitka

Standard features include ebony bridge, fingerboard, headstock overlay, and
bridge-pins; gold SCGC open-gear vintage style tuners, and bone nut and

Santa Cruz Tony Rice Pro
With its luscious Brazilian Rosewood, German Spruce top, and its co-design
by Tony Rice and Richard Hoover, you can be certain that this instrument
sounds every bit the way Tony wants it to for his modern take on Jazz and
Bluegrass infused acoustic music. The Pro model differs from the standard
Tony Rice model in more ways than the tonewoods used: The scale length is
shortened to 25-1/4" for a sweeter tone with a bit more of a supple feel,
the nut measures 1-11/16", and the soundhole is enlarged to 4-9/16, which
fattens the response in the upper and middle registers. Tony's signature
model was designed to offer an equal mix of balance, power, subtlety, and
richness. A beautiful instrument.

Santa Cruz Vintage Southerner Lefty
The VS is essentially the popular Vintage Jumbo with a shorter 24.750"
scale. This makes it slightly less punchy than its longer scale brother,
but "sweeter" as a result. It will be huge hit for anyone in love with
the sound and feel of the first Gibson J-35s and J-45s. The VS is an
extremely light weight guitar - and resonates like nothing else. The rumbly
bass will astound you thanks to this light build, but the instrument is
still remarkably well balanced. The Vintage-inspired looks of this guitar
are well thought out and extremely tastefull; the late 30's style sunburst
top is just right, and complimented by an attractive rectangular bridge. The
Sheraton Brown back and sides are the right color too (although our photos
don't quite capture it), and the Mahogany wood grain is accented just well
enough by the finish. The neck profile was obviously very much inspired by
those super comfortable round necks of the 1940-2 J-35s, and at 1-3/4" wide
there is plenty of room to get your fingers where they're supposed to go...
Still, though, the best part of this guitar is that it's a Lefty!

Santa Cruz 000R Custom
Whenever a big box arrives from the Santa Cruz Guitar Company we get very
excited around here. But the box that showed up earlier this week was
something special, and oh boy, were we excited. We knew that inside was our
latest custom Santa Cruz guitar- a 12 fret 000 rosewood with a Carpathian
spruce top and Pyramid bridge! Now everyone knows that the folks over at
Santa Cruz make some of the finest steel strings on the market today, but
even the most ardent SCGC fan would fall over backwards over this guitar...
Its voice is loud, balanced and open - with big basses and trebles that
offer limitless headroom. It iss wet with woody mids that ooze a 30's
vintage 12 fret vibe. A beautiful guitar to admire, SCGC's attention to
detail is marvelously evident in this instrument's herringbone top
purflings, finely carved pyramid bridge, snow flake inlays, ivoroid
bindings, and hand polished Nitrocellulose lacquer finish. A classier
instrument we've seldom seen.
The 000 body features Indian Rosewood back and sides and Carpathian Spruce
top, zigzag back strip, herringbone top purflings and black-white-black back
purflings bound everywhere with ivoroid bindings. The one-piece mahogany
neck is carved into a soft vintage V profile, with a nut width of 1-3/4" and
a scale of 25.4". The slotted headstock is overlaid with ebony and
bejeweled by nickel open-geared SCGC tuners with ivoroid buttons, and a hand
carved 'dart' volute on the reverse. Ebony bridge pins with pearl dots, and
highly polished bone nut and compensated saddle finish off the instrument
nicely. The pickguard was left unattached in the case and is included with
the guitar. We will be happy to install it should you desire. A brilliant
fingerstyle instrument, we encourage you to visit the shop to experience it
if you live in the vicinity.

Santa Cruz DH
Santa Cruz's long awaited DH model steps up to the plate and cleans up.
This is far and away the best sounding Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce
Herringbone dreadnaught available today. Introduced at the 2005 NAMM show,
this guitar was one of the most exciting new instruments at Anaheim, and our
first one took just about half a year to get! With excitement we present
this instrument. At the heart of the guitar is SCGC's meticulously
hand-scalloped braces, small maple bridgeplate, and super-light weight. The
X is not "Advanced" or shifted forward on this guitar as it is in the P/W
series, and the result is a super-powerful and well-balanced flatpicking
dream. The neck is a satin finished soft-V profile with a nut width of 1
23/32" (or in between 11/16ths and 3/4 inches). It feels great, and plays
exactly as you want it too. And Santa Cruz uses a hand-fit dovetailed neck
joint on all their guitars so sound transfer is not dampened by parts that
aren't glued together.
Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, Bone nut and
compensated saddle, Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay, ivoroid body and
fingerboard bindings, zigzag back strip, and an oh-so-gorgeous ring of
herringbone top purflings. Finished in traditional Nitrocellulose Lacquer,
hand rubbed and buffed nice and thin. There is no extra weight to slow this
one down! This will likely become our best selling Santa-Cruz model.

Santa Cruz D-M
The Santa Cruz Guitar Company has introduced a new line of Dreadnaughts for
2005. The first of these that we have received is the D-M (M is for
Mahogany), and we are nothing but impressed with SCGC's newest efforts.
This instrument features Mahogany back and sides and Sitka spruce top,
Ebony fingerboard and bridge with bone nut and compensated saddle. The
instrument's body is bound in tortoiseshell celluloid, and is adorned with a
matching hand-beveled pickguard. At the headstock, the pearl SCGC logo is
inlaid into a Brazilian rosewood overlay, and nickel vintage-geared tuners
offer a classy finishing touch. The instrument is braced with Santa Cruz's
new hybrid pattern which features scalloped tone-bars and a 'scooped'
X-brace. The resulting tone has the power of a straight-braced guitar, with
the over-tones, warmth and subtlety of a scalloped braced instrument. 1

Santa Cruz 000 Lefty
Lefty finger-style guitarist of the world rejoice! Our long awaited Santa
Cruz 000 Rosewood has finally arrived! WOW. That about all I can say....
Ok, ok I'll tell you some more: The 12 fret 000-R shown here features some
of the most attractive Indian Rosewood we've yet seen - it has a richness in
hues akin to Cocobolo, and is perfectly quartersawn and straight grained.
The top is incredibly tight-grain Sitka Spruce - with at least 350 years'
worth of growth rings to show (I stopped counting at 250) - and the guitar
is featherweight. It has hand-scalloped bracing, with brace dimensions more
similar to a 30's Martin than most any new instrument out there; and the
evidence is in the tone. Rich, rich basses and trebles perfectly matched,
and harmonic overtones abundant in every register. Dreadnaught power, with
000 subtleties. And we've only had it for a few days! I can't begin to
image how good this guitar will sound as it ages and opens up. This IS the
vintage 12 fretter of tomorrow, without any doubt.
Ivoroid bound ebony fingerboard, Ebony bridge, bone nut and compensated
saddle, 12 fret neck with slotted headstock and ivoroid bound ebony overlay;
SCGC open-geared tuners with matching ivoroid buttons, soft vintage V
shaped satin finished neck with dart-style volute. Ivoroid body bindings,
zigzag back strip, herringbone top purflings. Thin hand-rubbed
nitrocellulose lacquer finish; hand cut and beveled tortoise shell celluloid
pickguard, and ebony bridge pins finishing it off. 25.4" scale, and 1 3/4"
nut.

Santa Cruz F
The F model is visually one of the most striking guitars in the Santa Cruz line.
The guitar's stylish appeal gracefully accommodates options such as the cutaway body and the Deco inlay pattern.
This model is an extremely versatile instrument. The F's even balance between bass, treble, and midrange,
along with its excellent projection, allow the player to place emphasis where it is desired, rather than accepting
the limits of an excessively boomy or bright response. The combination of beauty and versatility in tone has earned
the F model a place on stage and in the Shop with artists ranging from Eric Clapton to the classical players in
the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.

fretted instrument with four courses of strings tuned in unison to the notes
of a 'cello: C-G-D-A. First invented around the turn of the last century,
these imposing instruments fulfill the mandolin enthusiast's desire to play
a range of notes similar to that of a guitar, but tuned in fifths. Santa
Cruz started with their Vintage Southerner body style, which is essentially
a nod to the great round-shouldered dreadnoughts of the '40's, and superbly
voiced it for the powerful low frequencies of the 'cello. The body is
mahogany and the top is sunbursted Sitka spruce, all other appointments are
ebony. They've created a very comfortable neck profile with a 1 1/2" nut,
and used a 24 3/4" scale which is short by mandocello standards, allowing
easy reaches. This scale is perfectly well-suited to the flattop 'cello,
which by nature has a fuller, smoother, more satisfying bass response than
most archtops can give. This instrument has a more fulfilling sound than
any other mandocello I've come across: powerful, rich basses and clear, full
trebles. This one won't get lost in the orchestra. Kudos to Dan Roberts
and Richard Hoover of Santa Cruz for going out on this particular limb. It
is a pleasure to offer such a fine and unusual creation.

Santa Cruz Custom 000-18
By very popular demand we commissioned the Santa Cruz Guitar Company to
build us this incredible take on the pre-war 000-18. Listen to this:
Mahogany and Englemann spruce, 24.9" scale, scalloped braces, 1 3/4" nut
width, ebony fingerboard and bridge, thru-saddle, Waverly tuners,
tortoise-shell binding, Brazilian Rosewood head veneer, and vintage toned
top finish. It's just a wonderful fingerstyle or flat-picking instrument
with lots of air and headroom in its basses, and particularly round and full
trebles. The short scale makes this instrument a breeze to play, and the 1
3/4 inch nut width provides a lot of room to move around in. Lush overtones,
and Santa Cruz's famous open-voice.
Deluxe HSC included.
