NEW Larrivée A-33 Mandolin
For 2009 Larrivée has delivered on its long time promise of entering the mandolin market; and they've done so quite brilliantly with the introduction of their A and F 33 models. Using master-grade tonewoods, rubbed varnish finishes, traditional design elements and modern touches, Jean Larrivée has created instruments that are a cut above what's available in the mid-priced mandolin market. Quarter-sawn Sitka spruce tops and flamey hard maple back, sides, and neck are meticulously carved and then traditionally water-stained to beautifully highlight the figure and ray-flower of the tonewood. Larrivée spent the better part of three years experimenting with finishes and came full circle to settle on an ultra-thin traditional varnish to maximize tone; it just so happens that it looks beautiful too! The gold-plated cast tailpiece and tuning machines were custom designed to Jean Larrivée's specifications, and the headstock design is a tasteful adaptation of the traditional 20's "Snakehead." Attractive grained ivoroid bindings, pearl headstock inlay complete the instrument tastefully, while an ebony radiused fingerboard and a perfectly fit Loar-style adjustable bridge provide comfortable playing and ensure excellent tone. Soft V neck profile, with a nutwidth of just about 1-1/8".

NEW Larrivee JCL 40th Anniversary
Guitar # 14 of a limited production run. For his company's 40th anniversary, Jean Larrivee decided to create a new guitar model - or an old one, depending on how you look at it. The JCL is a nod to the now vintage Larrivee steel strings built in Toronto in the early years; back when Jean's shop was staffed with only a few very skilled craftspeople at a time. Grit Laskin, Linda Manzer, Sergei De Jonge and other highly regarded luthiers began their careers apprenticing with Larrivee back then, and the instruments that came out of his Toronto shop are some of the most sought-after Canadian guitars ever built. The JCL brings back to life the instruments of Larrivee's early years, and it does so quite beautifully. Consider it a vintage re-issue of sorts, complete with original Larrivee rosette, JCL pearl headstock inlay and Toronto label. The L-shaped body is built of the world's finest quartered Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce, and accentuated with rosewood bindings and multilayer wooden purflings. Its one-piece mahogany neck has an ivoroid-bound ebony board with the same pearl dot inlay as was used in the 1970's, and its headstock has a rosewood overlay and nickel Schaller M6 tuners. The guitar is gloss finished, and has the clear pickguard standard on Larrivees up until a few years ago. A numbered certificate of authenticity, and a gorgeous top-of-the line TKL hard case accompany the guitar.

Larrivee 000-50
Jean Larrivee is really turning up the heat on his American cousins with
this one. A powerful guitar with rich basses and round trebles, this guitar
sounds, feels, and looks a lot bigger than the name 000 implies. Fine
open-grained spruce and mahogany body give this guitar a lot of the warmth
and power we usually associate with older instruments. It is commonly held
that Larrivees need a good break-in time to reach their potential. To my
ear this one came out of the box with much of that sound, and I can't wait
to hear what this one will sound like when it starts getting played. The
twelve-fret body joint gives the guitar added volume. The nut width is 1
13/16", giving extra maneuverability and precision for fingerstyle players.
The wooden herringbone purfling and rosette are a nice touch, and the
slotted headstock is a graceful nod to the fine guitars of the past. A
classy modern addition is the new Larrivee sleek, minimalist open-geared
tuners. With deluxe hard case.

Larrivee 000-60 Lefty
Larrivee's OOO guitars have garnered a reputation as some of the best
sounding 12 fretters out there. There must be something about the body
dimensions working in conjunction with Larrivee's distinctive symmetrical
bracing pattern that makes these guitars sound as fine as they do. Perhaps
it's the vintage pyramid bridge and bone saddle, or maybe it has to do with
the steeper break angle that the slotted headstock provides. Whatever it is
that makes these guitars sound the way they do, we're thankful for it... as
these are consistently our favorite Larrivee Guitars. The rosewood example
pictured here features an incredible set of bookmatched, quarter-sawn back
and sides, and a perfect AAAAA Sitka spruce top. 1-13/16" nut width, and
25.5" scale length. Hard-shell Case included

Larrivee 000-50 Lefty
We waited 4 months for our first of these to arrive, only to sell it 30
seconds after we took it out of the box. Well another has come it , and I
was able to play it for a bit before letting anyone else get their hands on
it... It is incredible - likely my personal favorite Larrivee yet.
Mahogany and Sitka Spruce, 12 fret neck with a 1 13/16" nut. Open, warm,
loud, rich, strong trebles... the list goes on and on. These are some of
the best-sounding new guitars out there.
