A modern classic, the Collings D1A is a bold and powerful mahogany dreadnought with traditional appointments and feel, top-level build and materials, and modern-day precision. This example features an attractive and well-quartered Adirondack spruce top, great looking finish and a gorgeous pickguard. The frets show the slightest of wear, and playwear is limited to a few very tiny scratches and a couple of tiny dings.
Mahogany back and sides, Red spruce top with forward positioned scalloped X bracing, gloss lacquer finish. Tortoise binding and pickguard, ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, Waverly tuning machines. 1-3/4” nutwidth, 2-3/16” spread at the saddle. Soft V neck carve with a thickness of .838” at the 1st fret.
A huge sounding guitar with a lot of spring in its step, this is a flat-picker’s dream mahogany Dreadnought and an otherwise incredibly versatile instrument. Set-up here with 13s and an action of 5-6 64ths.
