Pono’s MTD-SP Deluxe is manufactured by Hawaii's Ko'olau Ukulele Company on the island of Java in Indonesia. The tenor ukulele features a lightly built body of solid South American mahogany paired with a bound spruce top, with rope rosette and high gloss finish throughout. The mahogany neck has an adjustable truss rod, bound ebony fingerboard, bridge, heel cap and glossy headstock overlay, bone nut and saddle, excellent fretwork and set-up, and high-quality tuning machines.
